Ryan Wang, 16, from Vancouver, Canada, began playing the piano at the age of four and gave his first solo recital at the age of six. In 2013, he began his musical studies under the tutelage of Professor Lee Kum Sing and Dr. Sunsung Kong. He is currently studying on a Music Scholarship with Mr. Gareth Owen at Eton College, UK, and received his Artist Diploma under Professor Marian Rybicki at the École Normale de Musique in Paris, France, in May 2024, becoming the youngest recipient of the Prix Cortot.

Ryan maintains a very active concert career as a soloist and with orchestras around the world, including in Europe, Asia, and North America. He has performed at many important and prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Fondation Louis Vuitton, Salle Cortot, The Ellen deGeneres Show, Fazioli Concert Hall, RTHK radio 4 (Hong Kong), CCTV 4 (China), CBC Music, live on FM96.3 Toronto's Radio Station at Zoomer Hall, and Radio Classique in France. He was invited to perform as part of the cultural component of Canada's participation in the APEC Summit in Beijing in 2014, and he was also invited to give a private recital at the home of Canadian Prime Minister Steven Harper. He has performed with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Toronto Festival Orchestra, Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra, Metro Vancouver Orchestra, West Coast Symphony Orchestra, Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra and many others.

Among the prizes he has won are the 2022 "SAMSON FRANCOIS" International Piano Competition, the 2023 Jeune Chopin International Piano Competition in Switzerland, the 2023 Cleveland International Piano Competition for Young Artists (senior group), the 18th Animato International Piano Competition in Paris Frédéric Chopin Edition in 2023, and the 2024 Bern Piano Prize. In 2017 and 2019, Ryan was awarded the Vancouver Academy of Music Emerging Artist Scholarship. In March 2023, at the age of 15, Ryan was the youngest musician to appear on UK radio station Classic FM's list of 30 brilliant Rising Stars, all under the age of 30. Ryan has also been included in the New Generation Piano 2022-2023 series with 3 other pianists (Bruce Liu, Alim Beisembayev, and Yunchan Lim) by the Louis Vuitton Foundation, and has been invited to give a solo recital in the Foundation's concert hall in Paris in 2023.
